Our flagship red wine, made from grapes selected from the best and oldest vines. The wine was aged in our cellar for 18 months, some in second, third and fourth fill French oak barrels and some in stainless steel tanks.  It was further aged in bottle for another 6 months prior to its release.

​

The wine is complex. It has a round nose, rich in woodland fruit, with a hint of oak and scents of the garrigue. The wine is medium to full bodied, with a succulent palate of fresh cherries, violet and eucalyptus, notes of Provençal herbs and spice. Its tannins complement the length and balance of the sweet wild fruit and give a rounded, full finish.

Drinking now, but has excellent ageing potential. Perfect to accompany red meats (roasted, grilled or in casseroles) and strong cheeses, or on its own.

“Le 2012 Le Gentleman has turned out to be outstanding. Pretty, perfumed and beautifully textured, it has notes of black raspberry, black cherry, ground herbs, sweet spice and creamy licorice. Medium-bodied and elegant, it’s not a heavyweight and excels on its balance, purity and texture. Enjoy it over the coming 5-6 years, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see it evolve for longer“
