Cuvée Séléné 2012 and Cuvée Bélénos 2012

Domaine Vintur has made two special cuvées, one white and one of red, which take advantage of the quality of the 2012 vintage. The special cuvée white, Cuvée Séléné, is of only 1000 bottles; the special Cuvée red, Cuvée Bélénos, is of 1300 numbered bottles.

CUVEE SELENE (white)

Benefiting from the exceptional fruit of the 2012 vintage, Domaine Vintur has selected the best grapes to create 2 exclusive cuvées as “limited editions”.

Inspired by the Greek goddess of the moon and as an homage to women who climbed the Mont Ventoux by bicycle, this wine is made primarily from Grenache blanc with 5% each from old Clairette and Ugni blanc wines. 45% of the wine was fermented and given long lees contact as it aged in new French oak barrels; the balance was fermented and aged in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The resulting wine is rich and savoury.

This wine has a brillant yellow hue. Its complex aromas are a melange of lychees and almonds. On the palate, the wine is rich, pure and mineral, with subtle hints of oak. A long finish leaves the palate clean and refreshed.

CUVEE BELENOS (red)

Bélénos was the Celtic god of fire, light and the sun.

The wine was made as blend from selection of barrels of old wine Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre and reflects the high quality of the fruit in this vintage. The barrels were a mixture of first second and third fill French oak barrels.

The result is a deep and intense wine with woodland fruit.

Ideal as a special present to give or to receive.
