Four different wines win 90 points from Parker!

The new ratings from eRobertParker.com give 4 different wines of Domaine Vintur 90 points and a further wine 89 points. "This is a domaine to keep an eye on."

We are delighted to report that the wine world’s most influential writers, eRobertParker.com, have rated Domaine Vintur’s new wines and given them excellent reviews. Overall the Wine Advocate commented that “this is a domaine to keep an eye on.”

Red Wines

Le Gentleman 2012 was given 90 points, confirming the previous year’s review of a tank sample which had been given 88-90.

“Le 2012 Le Gentleman has turned out to be outstanding. Pretty, perfumed and beautifully textured, it has notes of black raspberry, black cherry, ground herbs, sweet spice and creamy licorice. Medium-bodied and elegant, it’s not a heavyweight and excels on its balance, purity and texture. Enjoy it over the coming 5-6 years, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see it evolve for longer.”

The 2012 red Tradition gained 89 points, up from the 86-88 points given to a tank sample of the year before.

“The 2012 Ventoux offers up notes of bouquet garni, earth, pepper and ample dark fruits. Medium-bodied, supple and elegant, it too has a terrific texture and a solid finish.”

Le Bélénos, our 2012 special limited edition cuvée made with a higher proportion than Le Gentleman of oaked wine from selected barrels, was also given 90 points.

“Also outstanding, the 2012 Bélénos is a polished, medium-bodied, layered effort that excels on its balanced, complexity and elegance more than its power and richness. Lots of black raspberry, spice and while chocolate emerge from the glass, and this impressive blend of mostly Grenache will have another 5-6 years of prime drinking.”

White Wines

Cuvée Séléné, our special limited edition white of 2012, also gained 90 points.

“A beautiful white, the 2012 Séléné Blanc gives up impressive notes of white peach, honeysuckle, brioche and hints of minerality to go with a medium-bodied, pure and elegant style on the palate. Made from 80% Grenache Blanc, 15% Clairette and the rest Ugni Blanc, it has stunning purity, integrated acidity and enough class to drink well for 1-2 years.”

Finally, the 2013 white tradition gained 90 points, reinforcing our reputation as makers of special white wines.

“In the same mold as the Séléné Blanc, the 2013 Ventoux Tradition Blanc (a barrel fermented blend of 50% Clairette, 45% Grenache Blanc and 5% Ugni Blanc) has fabulous purity to go with notes of vanilla bean, white peach, white flowers and brioche. Balanced, classy and with building richness, it’s an outstanding white to drink over the coming year or two.
